SFIVET holds contact seminar of German-speaking vocational training institutes

8/2/2011

The contact seminar of German-speaking vocational training institutes was held at the SFIVET campus in Zollikofen from 29 June to 1 July 2011.

This seminar was devoted to the topic of policy advice. Participants included representatives of SFIVET as well as the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) in Bonn, the Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS), the Institute for Research on Qualifications and Training of the Austrian Economy (ibw), the Austrian Institute for Research on Vocational Training (öibf) and the management consultancy firm 3s Unternehmensberatung in Vienna. This cross-border exchange covered the following topics: "policy advice - general thoughts", "internationalisation of VET", "evidence-based policy advice" and "innovations in VET practices". During the discussions it became clear that all three countries are working on similar topics (e.g. national qualification framework, integration of disadvantaged groups in the labour market, competency-based curricula), but are implementing them differently in their respective contexts.

The next contact seminar will be held at the BIBB in Bonn in 2013.
