About the Congress
Vocational education and training (VET) systems currently face numerous challenges: changing labour market requirements, newly developed occupational profiles, a predicted lack of specialists within some occupations, unemployment, demands for greater integration of certain disadvantaged groups, demands for greater equity, lifelong learning and so on. These challenges also affect VET teaching, training and learning processes: how should they be designed in order to meet these challenges?
Devoted to the theme “VET Challenges: Developing Skills and Competences for the Future”, this conference seeks to make a contribution to these topics and provide an overview of VET research activities in Switzerland and other countries. It is also intended to facilitate academic exchanges between leading institutions and present the latest international research findings.
We would like to encourage the participation of researchers from different academic disciplines who conduct research in VET. In particular, we ask for contributions on the following themes:
- VET learning diagnostics
- Cooperation between VET learning locations
- VET training plans / Curricula
- Quality of VET learning and teaching
- Learning technologies
- Lifelong learning
- Research on VET teachers and VET trainers
- Economics of VET
- Entrepreneurship
- Changes to occupational profiles, new occupations
- Vocational counselling
- Career paths / Transitions
- Social inequality in VET / Heterogeneity in VET
- VET governance
- VET ethics
Contributions on other VET topics are also welcome.
The 2nd Congress on Research in Vocational Education and Training is open to participants from all over the world. All presentations will therefore need to be given in English. We are looking forward to receiving many interesting and exciting submissions.
